The Sabari Express is a daily express train operated by South Central Railway zone of the Indian Railways. The train connects Hyderabad, capital city of Telangana state to Thiruvananthapuram Central capital city of Kerala state. The train covers the distance of 1568 km in 30 hours, 25 minutes.

Earlier the train used run between Hyderabad and Ernakulam (Cochin Harbour Terminus, code CHTS) with Train numbers 7230/7229. The train was extended to Trivandrum Central from 27 March 2005.[1]

About the name of the Train

The train is named after famous Hindu pilgrimage site Sabarimala.

Engine used

It is hauled by krishnarajapuram KJM WDP4/4B from hyderabad to guntur junction, ERODE/ROYAPURAM ED/RPM WAP4 from guntur junction to shoranur junction and ED/RPM WAP4 from shoranur junction to trivandrum central.

Timings

The train No:17229[2] starts from Trivandrum Central at 07:15 hours and reaches Hyderabad at 13:40 hours the next day. In the return direction it leaves No:17230[3] Hyderabad at 11:25 hours and reaches Trivandrum at 18:20 hours the next day.
