List of endangered languages in Asia
This is a dynamic list and may never be able to satisfy particular standards for completeness. You can help by expanding it with reliably sourced entries.
An endangered language is a language that it is at risk of falling out of use, generally because it has few surviving speakers. If it loses all of its speakers, it becomes an extinct language. UNESCO defines four levels of language endangerment between "safe" (not endangered) and "extinct":[1]
- Vulnerable
- Definitely endangered
- Severely endangered
- Critically endangered
Asia is the world's largest and most populous continent.
