Dialects of Punjabi

Majhi (Punjabi: ماجھی; Eastern Punjabi: ਮਾਝੀ ) dialect is referred to as the standard dialect of Punjabi language[2] originating from the Majha region of the Punjab. It is also used to refer to the people who speak this dialect and live mostly in central districts of Pakistani Punjab and in India around Amritsar and Gurdaspur regions, known as Majhis. The two most important cities in this area are Lahore and Amritsar. Other common dialects include Hindko and Saraiki.
