The 2016–17 season is Associazione Sportiva Roma's 89th in existence and 88th season in the top flight of Italian football. The team is competing in three competitions for the third year in a row, in Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the UEFA Champions League.

Roma lost their Champions League qualifying play-off 4–1 on aggregate to Portuguese club FC Porto; as a result they dropped down into the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.
