Kadugodi (ಕಾಡುಗೋಡಿ IPA: [Kāḍugōḍi]), known as Kadugudi was founded by the great Cholas Dynasty. It is located in Whitefield, Bangalore in the state of Karnataka. Kadugodi comes from "kadu" & "Gudi" meaning "temple in a forest" in Kannada.
History
History speaks here about the great Chola. It is said that the temple was built in the 11th century by Chola kings in Kadugudi Hundreds of people attend every year.
Kadugodi Originally it was a "Aaranyapuri" means Village of Forest.
British Rule
The British built an overpass across the river Dakshina Pinakini in Kadugodi around 130 years ago.
Arts and Inscriptions
Cholas Dynasty's Inscriptions dating from 1043AD exists in Kadugodi, from the period of Rajendra Chola I, which describes the construction of the Pattanduru Lake, and Ganesh, Durga and Kshetrapaala temples by Chola chieftain Raja Raja Velan son of Permadi Gavunda.[2]

Climate
Kadugudi is known for its pleasant climate throughout the year. Its elevation is the highest among the major large cities of India.
Kadugudi has a tropical savanna climate (Köppen climate classification Aw) with distinct wet and dry seasons. Due to its high elevation, Kadugudi usually enjoys a more moderate climate throughout the year, although occasional heat waves can make summer somewhat uncomfortable The coolest month is December with an average low temperature of 19.4 °C (66.9 °F) and the hottest month is April with an average high temperature of 36 °C (97 °F). The highest temperature ever recorded in Kadugudi is 36.8 °C (98.2 °F) (recorded in March 2012). However, the suburbs of Kadugudi recorded temperatures as high as 39 °C (102 °F). The lowest ever recorded is 9.8 °C (50 °F) (recorded in January 2013).
Winter temperatures rarely drop below 12 °C (54 °F), and summer temperatures seldom exceed 37 °C (99 °F). Kadugodi receives rainfall from both the northeast and the southwest monsoons and the wettest months are September, October and August, in that order. The summer heat is moderated by fairly frequent thunderstorms. The heaviest rainfall recorded in a 13-hour period in recorded on 17 October 2014

Transport
Rail
Kadugudi Railway Station, also known as the White Field Railway Station, is a divisional Railway line in the South Western Railway zone of the Indian Railways. There are four major railway stations in the city: Bangalore City junction, Bangalore Cantonment railway station, Bangalore East, Baypanahalli and Krishnarajapuram railway station. And Kadugudi is well connected by rail to most cities in Karnataka, as well as with other major cities in India.[3]Namma Metro has been said that it will be coming soon to Kadugudi and White Field.
Bus
BMTC's Volvo buses are a popular mode of commuting within Kadugodi. Buses operated by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) are an important and reliable means of public transport available in the city.[4] While commuters can buy tickets on boarding these buses, BMTC also provides an option of a bus pass to frequent users.[4] BMTC runs air-conditioned luxury buses on major routes, and also operates shuttle services from various parts of the city to Kadugodi
Auto
Three-wheeled, green and black auto-rickshaws, referred to as autos, are a popular form of transport. They are metered and can accommodate up to three passengers. But expensive for new peoples.
Taxi
Taxis, commonly called City Taxis, are usually available too, but they are only available on call. Taxis are metered and are generally more expensive than auto-rickshaws.
