Ali Ahmed Mabkhout Mohsen Omaran Alhajeri (Arabic: علي أحمد مبخوت محسن عمران الهاجري; born 5 October 1990) known as Ali Mabkhout, is an Emirati professional footballer who plays as a forward for Al Jazira Club and the UAE national team.
Compared to former UAE player Adnan Al Talyani, Mabkhout has been described as having great physical strength and high speed ability. He developed for Al Jazira's youth team and made his way through to the first team in 2009.
He made his senior and league debut on 17 April 2009 in a 4–1 home win against Al Sharjah Club, but he did not emerge significantly in his debut. His second match was against Al Dhafra on 26 April which he scored his first senior goal for Al Jazira. He started next match against rivals Al Ain in Dubai derby. His talent emerged remarkably and he scored his second senior goal in the 90th minute and match was ended 2-0 to Al Jazira. He also made his AFC Champions League debut against Esteghlal and scored the winning goal in the 49th minute.
Mabkhout began to gain respect of the fans at the beginning of season. He made a great and fearsome partnership with Ricardo Oliveira. The new season began and a more developed Mabkhout performance was noticeable. He began to score from the beginning of the season.
2012 Summer Olympics
On 16 October 2012 at Za'abeel Stadium in Dubai with UAE national shirt against Gulf Rival Bahrain in a friendly match, Ali Mabkhout has scored his first ever super hat-trick and led UAE to a massive 6–2 win.
2013 Gulf Cup of Nations
Ali Mabkhout played his first major international tournament in Gulf Cup of Nations 2013. He was selected by his previous and current UAE international team coach Mahdi Ali. He played a significant part in the road of the glory. His first goal against Qatar at the 28th minute which ended 3-1 for UAE.He also scored a fantastic goal against Bahrain in the second group match after passing through Abdulla Marzooq Bahrain National team Captain with great dribble skill that made Marzooq to the ground and scored a goal to the right of the Goalkeeper at the 39th minute. This trophy was his first as a first team player.
2015 AFC Asian Cup
Mabkhout was named in UAE's 23-man squad for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, held in Australia. He started the opening match of the tournament against Qatar and scored twice in 4–1 win. In the following match against Bahrain, Mabkhout scored the fastest goal ever scored in AFC Asian Cup history in the fourteenth second. UAE won the match 2–1 and qualified to the knockout stage. In the quarter-final, Mabkhout scored the opening goal of a 1–1 draw with Japan at Stadium Australia in Sydney. He went on to convert his kick as the Emiratis defeated the defending champions 5–4 in a penalty shootout. He also scored the winning goal in UAE's 3–2 win over Iraq in third-place match. He then won the Golden Boot as the tournament's top goalscorer with 5 goals.
