Provincial highways in Alberta

Hwy 17Hwy 19

Alberta Provincial Highway No. 18 is a highway in Alberta, Canada. It begins northwest of Mayerthorpe at the junction of Highway 43 at the Hamlet of Green Court.[1] It proceeds east 8 km (5.0 mi), crossing Highway 22 (which is the terminus for that highway) and reaches Highway 757. At this point it turns north for a few kilometres and bends east again until it crosses Highway 764 and turns north again.[2]

The jog in the road skirts Thunder Lake Provincial Park to the north. When the highway reaches Highway 655, it turns east to the Town of Barrhead (66 km from the start) where it meets Highway 33. The two highways multiplex north for approximately five kilometres to a T–intersection north of town. Highway 18 then turns east from this intersection while Highway 33 turns west. Highway 769 branches to the north towards Neerlandia 2 km (1.2 mi) east of this intersection.[2]

It then crosses Highway 776 and Highway 777 before it reaches Westlock at Highway 44 (103 km (64 mi) from the start). It continues east crossing Highway 2 at Clyde (114 km from the start). The intersection with Highway 2 is known as Clyde Corner. The highway goes through Thorhild as it crosses Highway 827 and proceeds west until it reaches Highway 63 and Highway 656 where it ends.[2]
