Chennai Marathon

The Chennai Marathon is an annual marathon in Chennai, India. The event is being endorsed by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT)

Starting from the Anna Square in the Marina Beach and terminating at the Annai Velankanni Church on the Elliot's Beach, it is considered the country's biggest city marathon and is also said to be South India's richest marathon, in which over 1,000 athletes and more than 6,000 people participate. The event includes various categories such as a 21.09-km run for professional athletes, a 7-km city run for everybody, a junior run for children, a 10-km mini marathon for the uniformed personnel,[1] a master's run for senior citizens and a 500-m wheelchair run for the disabled.[2]

The 9th edition, was held on 13 February 2011,[3] and the previous events were held on 21 February 2010.
